Greg Grant Saddlery Eventing Masterclass with Tim Price

If you want to learn about something, go to the best… and when it comes to eventing, former world No.1 Tim Price is a good place to start! 

The two-time Olympian, five-time CCI5* victor and World Champs double bronze medal winner has a thing or two to share.

While it will be a packed Grand Pavilion for his masterclass, his laid back and easy going nature will make it feel as though you are all just hanging out, having a chat. He’s worked his way up the ranks the hard way, riding plenty of difficult horses along the way and competing on some that weren’t as talented as others, so he knows what it is like to face a challenge or three both on the ground and in the saddle.

He grew up in rural New Zealand and competed in showjumping at World Cup level before making the switch to eventing purely because the horses he had at the time were better suited to the other discipline.  Tim and wife Jonelle, with their two children, live in the United Kingdom. He’s a hugely respected and very popular rider on the circuit, and always has time to stop and chat, encourage others and congratulate winners.

Each year there are just seven 5* events on the global calendar. It’s the highest rank in the world of eventing and Tim is regularly on the podium. These are the events that call for bravery and the very best of preparation for both horse and rider.

He’s quick to underline that behind every good rider is a top-notch support crew and he and Jonelle have one of the best. It’s a popular destination for aspiring young event riders who are keen to learn.

Tim is big on the responsibility riders have in doing the right thing with their horses – always, and for the masterclass plans to delve into just what that means, taking spectators along his own journey to how he came to be where he is now at the very pinnacle of the sport.
