Steph grew up a horse crazy kid from suburban Melbourne. She didn’t come from a family with any connections to horses, and learnt to ride at a riding school in the Yarra Valley.
Here she would spend every weekend and school holiday she possibly could. Going from being a student, to stable hand, riding instructor & camp leader, to eventually taking over the reins completely as the owner of Parkview Riding Centre. She owned and managed riding schools for over 7 years. In this time she has been able to adapt her teaching style to suit riders of any age, experience level and discipline.
Steph spent several years abroad in the USA leading the riding program at a private summer Camp, as well as spending several months as a guide in the Sequioa National Forest taking gear out with Mule trains for hunters and fisherman into the back country. She also worked as a hand on a number of working cattle ranches across California.
Steph has worked extensively within the racing industry, from pre-training, racing, breeding and yearling sales. Her horse training experience has spanned over her life time, learning from many great trainers and equally great horses. She has been invited to participate in a number of horse training events such as the Australian Brumby Challenge at Equitana, The Trainers Challenge at The Man From Snowy River Festival and the Race2Ranch Horse at Cowgirls Gathering .
Steph’s main passion lies in the reining horse industry, with multiple state titles to her name. She doesn’t limit herself in competition though and loves the challenge of a new event. Steph & her partner Mitch run Lancefield Bloodstock from their property in Merton, VIC
