Dressage Delights at EQUITANA
Lovers of dressage were treated to a night of beauty, talent and magic with the Goodbye Flys CDI-W musical freestyle and a beautiful display from star presenter Sabine Schut-Kery.
The evening opened with the Goodbye Flys Young Rider freestyle to music which was won by Jessica Dertell aboard Gladstone MH on a score of 72.11%. Judge Peter Storr was most impressed with the riders and their choice of music.
But it was the FEI CDI-W freestyle to music that many were there to see. Lindsay Ware and Aristede set the bar high as the first combination out, scoring 71.875%. It proved a step too far for the rest of the field, with Kerry Mack and Mayfield Limelight the only ones coming close with their 69.305% effort for second.
Sabine’s display aboard the Lusitano Alancelot was beautiful. The sprightly teenage grey gelding, owned by Debbie Warne drew plenty of praise from Sabine, who had only just met the horse but managed to get some impressive movements from him.
“He is life a four-year-old,” she said, “so full of life and energy. It fills my heart. He tries so hard and enjoys his work. It is a real compliment to (owner) Debbie, the horse and his intelligence. I love to see a happy horse who loves doing his job.”
It wrapped up a stunning day of dressage on day two of EQUITANA.
