John graduated from the University of Queensland in 1993 and after spending two years in mixed practice with 8-time Olympic vet, Dr Denis Goulding, worked at Goulburn Valley Equine Centre (Drs Angus McKinnon and Jim Vasey) and then Randwick Equine Centre for six years.
John has worked closely with trainers such as Lee Freedman, Gai Waterhouse, Peter Snowden, John Hawkes and the late Bart Cummings. His main interest is in performance horses, regardless of their activity. This includes thoroughbreds, jumpers, eventers, dressage horses, stock horses and ponies of every shape, colour and size.
John also spends a lot of time with young breeding stock and counts Coolmore, Godolphin, Arrowfield, Newgate, Widden and Yarraman Park as clients and friends, among many others. He is also the Veterinary consultant to Hygain-Mitavite and has travelled extensively to Asia, Europe, NZ and the UK talking horse food and examining horses.
