Louise Sedgman – Multi award-winning, professional equine fine-art portrait photographer from West Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. Louise has a passion for fine art photography and everything relating to horses. Specializing in uniquely capturing the special moments, tenderness and connection horses have with their people, as well as teaching the art of photography through workshops and masterclasses since 2008.
Louise has had horses all her life and has been a Clydesdale breeder for many years. Louise has always had a deep love and connection with horses herself, with her love of photography coming a little later, in her early 20’s. ” Horses intrinsically lend themselves to beautiful art. Their shape, movement, ethereal beauty and sentience inspire me every day”.
Louise has been a professional horse photographer for over 15 years, photographing horses for fine art portraits, sales, portraits with people, and commercially during that time. With numerous awards and achievements along the way, including winning the prestigious Australian Institute of Professional Photographers 2018 Victorian Pet and Animal Photographer of the Year.
Louise also teaches photography to those wanting to learn the art, with a series of Introductory workshops in her Drouin studio as well as advanced Masterclasses taught around the country.

Quality photos for sales and promotion
Selling or promoting our horses is something that we do from time to time, and depending on how our horse looks in the photos, can lead to a successful outcome…or not!
I want to help horse people learn how to photograph their horses. I want to show them how to best prepare their horse and capture photos that will sell or promote their horse in the best possible way, with some simple, straightforward tricks and a little effort on their part. Whether it’s with a fancy DSLR camera or their mobile phone, it doesn’t matter.
Having quality photos is what counts. 🙂
