Natalia Budisa
Horse Health / Care
I have been riding since 3 years old when my love of horses began, like many of us, via my mum’s passion for riding, where she introduced me to the world of horses by letting me hop on for a double during trail rides until I was able to ride on my own. My obsession with horses truly took off shortly after this.
Throughout my schooling career, I had the goal of becoming a veterinarian but once I dabbled in the world of animal nutrition, my career goals changed course. I have a strong passion for animal science and understand how nutritional research can guide us in bettering the health of our horses.
I have been working for Kelato Animal Health for five years and have been their Technical Manager for three, where I have a strong passion for implementing my scientific background to develop natural, equine supplements that address horse owner concerns and provide nutritional advice to owners on the principles of equine health and nutrition.

Muscle Health, recovery & nutrition
Our horses are athletes; whether for pleasure or competition, we are responsible for looking after their muscle health for the long term so they can perform their best. Our horses are prone to many of the same issues that humans experience, such as muscle fatigue and muscle soreness. When we think about muscle health and recovery, we often focus on the overall after-care management and often forget about the part that nutrition must play.
This educational talk will focus on simple and easy-to-learn nutritional tips on how to help care for muscle health and the role of how diet and specific nutrients can impact muscle recovery.
