EQUITANA Melbourne 2020 - Education Program Application

Applications are now open to be part of the Education Program at EQUITANA Melbourne in 2020.

Education is an integral part of every EQUITANA and provides a unique opportunity to present topics from a diverse range of categories, including English and Western sports, equine health and care, natural therapies, horsemanship and more!

In 2020 over 10,000 people attended education sessions during the event.

EQUITANA Melbourne is pleased to offer you the opportunity to present your demonstrations on your own or with another presenter in the choice of a classroom facility, a rubber matted arena for static demonstrations or a sand arena for presentations that require horses to be ridden or driven!

If you would like to apply together with another presenter and on your own with different topic areas please submit two applications (one application with the two presenters and another application on your own).

Please allow around 45minutes to compete and review the application form.

Information from your application form will be included in our printed program and promotional material and it is important to promote your attendance in the best possible way.

It is best to save your answers in a Word document and copy and paste as you go to ensure you keep your own copy just in case anything goes awry! You can download a template of the questions in the form to assist you.

Only forms submitted online will be accepted. Ensure you complete ALL fields in the application. If you feel some are not applicable to you, please put 'NA' in text fields or '0' in numerical fields.

Terms and Conditions

Please note all accepted Educators are subject to the following terms and conditions:

  • Participation in the EQUITANA education program is highly sought after. Participation is unpaid. Through their involvement with EQUITANA educators receive marketing and promotional value.
  • All education sessions are purely for education and information (not for commercial sales, product launches, etc.). No handouts or marketing collateral (including display of arena banners) is allowed before, during and after presentations. Educators may wear their branded clothing during their presentations.
  • The submission of this form does not guarantee the applicant a position in the EQUITANA Melbourne 2020 education program.
  • Previous participation at an EQUITANA event also does not guarantee a position in the EQUITANA Melbourne 2020 education program; if you have applied in the past you still need to submit a new application.
  • Applicant information is for the use of Equine Productions (organisers of EQUITANA Melbourne) only, and will not be disclosed to any third party.
  • Educators will receive 2 Official Educator Access passes to the event as well as 4 General Admission tickets (valid for individual access to a single day of the event)

Educator Photo

The online application requires a photo/image to be uploaded.

  • Please provide a high resolution (high quality) jpg image. Minimum dimensions should be 1200px x 1200px as a square, which is the shape we'll be using on the website and other promotional materials.
  • An interesting photo captures people’s attention so a photo of you with a horse or practising your craft is suggested, ideally with your face clearly visible.
  • To allow for cropping if required, please try to supply a photo that has more space around the photo, rather than part of your head or the content of the photo being cropped out of the frame.

PRESENTATION TIMES:

  • Standard length of each session is 45 minutes
  • Please make sure your proposed topic is structured for a 45 minute session

PRESENTATION AREAS & FACILITIES:

  • There are three types of presentation areas planned for EQUITANA.
  • Please ensure you plan your presentation based on the following AV availability.
    • Classroom
      The classroom is suitable for presentations without horses; best to use power point slides during presentation.
      Included audio visual equipment:
      • 1 headset and mic
      • 1 hand held mic
      • 1 projector screen
      • 1 Windows 10 Laptop with USB, DVD and CD playback capabilities, with Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)
    • Rubber arena
      Arena size: 6m x 6m, fenced with a rubber surface
      Suitable for static demonstrations – saddle fitting, dentistry, hoof care, horse care, etc.
      Included audio visual equipment:
      • 1 headset and mic
      • 1 hand held mic
      • 1 projector screen or big screen TV
      • Lecturn
      • 1 Windows 10 Laptop with USB, DVD and CD playback capabilities, with Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint)
    • Sand arenas
      Arena size: 20m x 20m fenced, sand surface
      Suitable for presentation with 1-2 horses – training, horsemanship, ground work and riding demonstrations, etc.
      Included audio visual equipment:
      • 1 headset and mic
      • 1 hand held mic

    HORSES AND STABLING

    • Educators are to provide own horse/s for their presentations.
    • International presenters will be provided assistance with sourcing suitable horse from the Event Organiser.
    • There is limited stabling available at the venue. Information will be provided to educators closer to the event.
    • If you are accepted to the program, you will have an opportunity to nominate 1 – 2 horses for your presentation.
