Presented by Lara Poynton:
Horsemanship for Dressage
In this education session we work with Tia tea cup, a 9yo Wb Arabian mare in her second ridden session coming back into work with us. The issues Tia has been misunderstanding in her ground and ridden work have a lot to do with Ballance.
- Refusing forward
- Throwing her head
- Even threatening to rear and running backwards
BUT….. we are not here to focus on the PROBLEMS. We want to focus on the solution, rebuilding Tia’s confidence in me as the leader AND her confidence in our language of cues. The equine system uses 3 simple principles to become the best leader we can be for our horses.
- Move the feet (become the leader)
- Language of cues (pressure and release)
- Mistakes and Opposites
Let’s sort out a few holes in our unspoken language and see if Tia tea cup can regain some trust in me and our work 🙂
Everything we do with horses follow the Equine system, if you are looking for more information on how we better ourselves for our horses: https://www.equinedevelopment.com.au/
